Biking in Canal du Midi
Pierre-Paul Riquet constructed the Canal du Midi for Louis XIV – despite the massive cost and multitudes of his peers who claimed the project was impossible to complete. It is set in the heart of the southern France vineyards, and approaches the Mediterranean Sea.
You’ll love the tranquil cycling – we take you along the canal paths when it makes sense, and onto nearby small roads when the terrain is too rough. A mix of rich countryside and seaside sites make the area perfect for exploration by bike.
